Good to Know

How do I apply for Community Care or Long-Term Care services in PEI?

First, you need to be assessed to confirm your care needs. If you are assessed as requiring Community Care facility support, you may choose where you wish to live based on availability.

If you are assessed as requiring Long-Term Care, Health PEI acts as the single point of entry and manages placement in all Long-Term Care nursing homes. If you require financial support, applications may be made through the Department of Family and Human Services.
