About the MacLeod Group
Providing the highest standard of care with the feeling of home
The MacLeod Cares sense of pride has been instilled in our people since Brian MacLeod and his family founded the MacLeod Group in 1984. Their vision — to provide the highest standard of care with the feeling of home — has remained steadfast as the company has grown over the years. From our modest beginnings in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, we now employ over 1,000 people, caring for over 600 seniors, with homes in 12 communities located throughout the Maritimes.
Retirement homes and nursing homes with a difference
Call or visit one of our facilities in smaller towns throughout Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island or New Brunswick and you will pick-up on the MacLeod Cares difference right away. It’s in the friendly caring manner of our local teams. It’s in the quality of our facilities, dining, amenities, programs and services. And, most importantly, it’s in the sense of comfort and community among our residents who’ve come to appreciate just how much MacLeod Cares.
Proud to support local Maritime communities and organizations
The MacLeod Group is proud to support local Maritime communities and the organizations that make living better for Maritimers. These include local organizations like the Mahone Bay Volunteer Fire Department or the South Shore Community Health Centre in Capaud, PEI. We also lend philanthropic support to many organizations in the arts, culture, education and research sectors, such as Antigonish Highland Games, Festival Antigonish, Mount Allison Universtiy, Nova Scotia Community College and the Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation.
