Roseway Manor is a 66-bed long-term care home located in Shelburne, Nova Scotia, on a quiet residential street. We are proud to provide compassionate, person-centered care in a close-knit community environment where Residents feel at home.

Roseway Manor is currently seeking a youth between the ages of 15 and 30 to fulfill the role of recreation assistant for 8 weeks.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Recreation Programmer in the planning and implementation of therapeutic activities designed to meet the individual needs and interests of the residents in accordance with established standards
• Organize supplies and equipment as needed
• Set up program areas as needed and clean up program area after activities have completed including sanitization of all touchable surfaces in accordance with the facility protocol
• Documentation on each resident re: program attendance and participation
• Encourage and motivate residents to actively engage in programs offered
• Assist residents to and from programs safely using proper body mechanics

Qualifications:

• This role is part of the Canada Summer Job Program. To be considered you must be between the age of 15 & 30.
• Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent residents, or person conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Act for the duration of the employment.
• Must have a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
