“Great leadership usually starts with a willing heart,
a positive attitude, and a desire to make a difference.”
~ Mac Anderson
We are thrilled to share that our Founder, Brian MacLeod, was recently awarded the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal for Nova Scotia. This commemorative medal, created to mark the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s accession in 1952, recognizes individuals who significantly impact their community. More specifically, the award reflects a strong community spirit, volunteerism and service to others.
We can’t think of anyone more deserving in the Antigonish community than Brian MacLeod. A passionate business leader, philanthropist and community advocate, Brian embodies all that this medal stands for. Since MacLeod Group’s inception, Brian has maintained a vision to become the recognized leader in high-quality retirement living and senior care built on a solid foundation of family values and a sense of community. With 13 locations, 650 residents and over 1000 employees throughout the Maritimes, MacLeod Cares still holds fast to Brian’s core vision and values.
Beyond his leadership and enthusiasm for MacLeod Group, Brian has served on various boards throughout the region and, together with his late wife, Irene MacLeod, generously supports countless charitable organizations and initiatives in Antigonish and beyond.
A lover of the arts. A community builder. A mentor. A kind-hearted gentleman. An amazing leader. We’re all so proud of you, Brian. Thanks for all you do, and congrats on this very well-deserved recognition.
