MacLeod Cares Shiretown Nursing Home is a 53-bed long-term care home in Pictou, Nova Scotia. We are proud to provide compassionate, person-centered care in a close-knit community environment where Residents feel at home.

Operating under MacLeod Group Health Services Limited (MGHSL), we are committed to creating a positive, supportive workplace where team members grow, lead, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of Residents and their families.

As a licensed hairstylist, you will work independently to provide hair care services for Residents in a welcoming long-term care environment. Typical services include perms, roller sets, hair colouring, and haircuts for both men and women. You will manage your own appointment bookings, set service pricing, and purchase supplies as needed. Billing support is provided through the Home’s business office. Candidates must maintain their own professional liability insurance. Hairstyling services are typically offered two days per week. A minimal chair rental fee applies ($1 per client for the first 40 clients, and $2 per client thereafter).

The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and strong customer service skills. Experience working with seniors or in a long-term care setting is considered an asset. A current Cosmetologist (Hairdressing) License, Police Record Check, and Vulnerable Sector Check are required.

Start date: End of June to early July
