Shiretown Nursing Home and Ivey’s Terrace Nursing Home have joined the province-wide labour disruption affecting CUPE-represented long-term care homes, effective Thursday, April 23 at 6:30 a.m.
These Homes, both represented by CUPE Local 2503, join Roseway Manor Nursing Home, Surf Lodge Nursing Home, and Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home, where labour disruption has been ongoing since Monday, April 13 at 7:00 a.m.
Supporting the care, safety, and dignity of our Residents remains our top priority. Plans are in place to continue delivering safe, essential care throughout this period, in accordance with Essential Services Agreements (ESAs).
Residents have and will continue to receive necessary clinical care, personal care, and support services, with a continued focus on comfort and well-being.
During this time, families may notice some temporary adjustments, including, but not limited to:
- A pause in non-essential programs such as recreation
- Simplified menus; some Residents may have more meals in their rooms
- Possible delays in phone response times
These measures are in place to ensure staffing resources remain focused on essential care.
We encourage families and loved ones to visit, as their presence is always valued.
For questions about a specific Resident, please contact their Home directly.
