MacLeod Cares is excited to partner with CBBC Career College to offer a progressive education plan for Continuing Care Assistants (CCA). This unique opportunity allows students to work in a part-time paid position at our Port Hawkesbury location while completing their CCA course at CBBC Career College.

We are thrilled to share that our Founder, Brian MacLeod, was recently awarded the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal for Nova Scotia. This commemorative medal, created to mark the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s accession in 1952, recognizes individuals who significantly impact their community. More specifically, the award reflects a strong community spirit, volunteerism and service to others.

(AS RELEASED BY THE TOWN OF SHELBURNE) Since our spring announcement on the decision to replace the Municipal Corporation’s ownership of Roseway Manor, the Nova Scotia’s Department of Seniors and Long Term Care was asked to facilitate finding a qualified and experienced operator for Roseway Manor. We are most pleased to announce that the Department of Seniors and Long Term Care have advised us that the successful proponent is MacLeod Group Health Services.

MacLeod Cares continues to work closely with Public Health officials. Due to the widespread nature of the current outbreak, each of our locations may be closed or operating with restricted public access. We have been notified by Public Health that an employee at our Mahone Bay Nursing Home has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee is home in isolation. We are working diligently with Public Health officials, Nova Scotia Health Authority and the Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness to notify residents, family, and staff. All residents and employees at the Home are undergoing testing. We will not be permitting visitation at Mahone Bay Nursing Home at this time.

NS Government News Release, 11:17am July 9, 2021 The Rankin government announced today, July 9, it is investing $96.5 million in new long-term care beds and facilities to better serve residents, their families and staff who care for residents in long-term care.
