Support Services Manager

MacLeod Cares Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home is looking to fill the role of Support Services Manager.  This position provides leadership and direct oversight of the Support Services team including Dietary, Laundry, Housekeeping, and Maintenance Departments.

Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home is a 66-bed MacLeod Cares nursing home and part of Macleod Group Health Services LTD (MGHSL).  For this leadership role, we are seeking individuals who are committed to service excellence and providing quality person centered care.

As the Support Services Manager, you hold the primary accountability for the daily operational management of the support services team. You will manage a team of highly skilled and diverse professionals who together, provide exceptional and compassionate care for our residents by ensuring the building is safe and clean. Within the MGHSL, you can expect to receive mentorship, training, and opportunities for professional growth. MGHSL strives to be industry leading while demonstrating exceptional care for our residents and their families.

Are you:

  • A person with a diploma in Food Services related field or equivalent
  • Experienced working with a budget and managing inventory
  • 5 years’ experience in support services department or acceptable equivalent
  • Effective with communication skills allowing you to manage various cultures through a compassionate and inviting manor
  • A person with demonstrated time management and organizational skills
  • A sincere desire to work with the elderly and are excellence driven
  • Able to obtain a clean vulnerable sector check / criminal record check
