Reporting to Management within Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home, in addition to the Director of Resident & Employee Programs, the Activity Worker will assist in the planning and facilitation of group and individual activities for Residents that match their expectations and preferences and satisfies their social, cultural, spiritual, and recreational interests.

Qualifications:

• Completion of recognized Therapeutic Recreation diploma
• 1 year of experience in the development, organization and delivery of therapeutic programs
• Completion of Alzheimer’s and other related dementia awareness courses would be an asset

• Works collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, following direction and accepting accountability for assigned responsibilities
• Demonstrates reliable, flexible, and resident-centered work practices with strong organizational and planning skills
• Effectively prioritizes workload, manages time, and applies sound problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Communicated clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing

Salary Classification: AS PER UNION CONTRACT

$20.9552 probationary hourly rate, $21.3115 regular rate.
