As an Activity Worker with MacLeod Cares, you will assist in the planning and facilitation of group and individual activities for residents. Reporting directly to the RN, LPN, Director of Facility and Resident Care as well as the Director of Resident & Employee Programs you will be an important part of our care team. All activities are designed to match residents’ expectations and preferences, satisfy residents’ social, cultural, spiritual, and recreational interests and meet the needs of the resident

Do you possess:

• a recognized Therapeutic Recreation diploma
• 1 year of experience in the development, organization and delivery of therapeutic programs
• Completion of Alzheimer’s and other related dementias awareness courses will be an asset

Please note: Previous satisfactory work experience/attendance will be considered

Duties involve personal contact with a varying resident population and a varied work schedule that includes some weekends and evenings. Other tasks also involved including but not limited to: resident assessments, charting, computerized and paper record keeping, volunteer coordination, use of supplies and equipment, petty cash management and maintenance of storage areas.
